The Western Dachshund Club membership is comprised of a group of Dachshund fanciers. Most of our members are selective breeders, showing their dogs in Canada and the USA in conformation events, earthdog tests, field trials, obedience, rally, agility, scent work, and tracking. The Club has an active Rescue Group that has been instrumental in placing unwanted Dachshunds in new loving homes. Our Code of Ethics, Club Constitution, and By-Laws encourage responsible breeding practices and the protection of our breed. We support several dog related organizations by donation a portion of all fund raising to these worthy groups.
Our annual events include the ever popular Dachshund Winer Walk & Picnic, the WDC Specialty Show held in conjunction with the Lower Mainland Dog Fanciers All-Breed Shows at Chilliwack Heritage Park. We also hold earthdog tests. We sponsor occasional breed seminars, regular meetings and social gatherings for our members throughout the year.
